Morocco Top Destinations

Fes
Fez is located in the north of Morocco and is one of the largest cities in Morocco. It is divided into three sections. Fez El Bali (old medina), Fez Jadid and the new modern part. The old city is situated around the Fez River (Oued Fes), which flows from west to east, and is bordered by hills. It is also considered the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco. It is most known for its walled Fes El Bali Medina, which features medieval Marinid architecture, thriving souks, and an antique ambience.

Essaouira
Essaouira (essa-weera, or es-sweera in Arabic) has been able to maintain its original culture and identity because of the coastal breeze, the elegantly termed alizee, or taros in Berber. The town is bypassed by the throngs of beach vacationers who flock to other Atlantic Coast attractions in summer because the wind blows here so hard throughout most of the year that lying back on the beach is difficult. The walled medina, also known as the “Wind City of Africa,” draws a lot of windsurfers between April and November, but the majority of visitors arrive in the spring and fall to stroll through the lanes fragrant with spices and the palm-lined avenues.

Tangier
The world-renowned city of Tangier! You may find a special city with a multiracial heritage on the coastlines of Tangier in northern Morocco, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans meet. The streets of “the White” Tangier are lined with houses that have lime paint on them. When you first arrive, let yourself get taken away by the city’s dreamlike aura, much as Delacroix or Matisse did. At the base of the “Kasbah’s” towering walls, explore the vast “Socco’s” lanes and take in the citadel that rules the medina.

Tetouan
The northern Moroccan city of Tetouan is often known as the White Dove. One of Morocco’s two major Mediterranean Sea ports is located along the Martil Valley a few miles south of the Strait of Gibraltar and roughly 60 kilometers (40 miles) east of Tangier. It belongs to the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima administrative region. The city of Tetouan was founded by Mauretanian Berbers in the third century BC, and it was found a few kilometers outside of the present-day municipal borders.

Rabat
The capital of Morocco is the city of Rabat. It is one of the four imperial cities of the nation and is situated across from the city Salé on the Atlantic coast near the (Wadi) Bou Regreg’s river. Salé, whose location was first held by the Roman colony of Sala, has a direct relationship to Rabat’s history (Shella). Salé was founded by the Sunni Muslim Zantah Imazighen (Berbers) in the tenth century to accommodate the rebellious Barghawah Imazighen. Abd al-Mumin established Rabat in the 12th. Rabat offers the best of both worlds: rich historical heritage and modern infrastructure.

Ouarzazate
Ouarzazate also known as the “portal to the desert” is situated in the center of a desolate plateau south of the High Atlas Mountains and is bordered by desert on three sides. Berber speakers make up the majority of the town’s population, they constructed many of the prominent kasbahs also known locally as (“ighreman“). The city of Ouarzazate has been a popular city for the historical film makers and it is commonly referred to as the Hollywood of Morocco.

Aït Benhaddou
The Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, also known as Igherem in Berber is located along the old caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in Morocco. Special about this ancient village is that currently only four families still reside in it. The majority of the previous residents live in more contemporary homes in the village across the river where they have access to the electricity and other amenities not like before. It is one of the best tourist destinations in southern Morocco and it is an example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture. Ait Benhaddou is one of the country’s oldest settlements.

Dades Gorges
The history of the Dades Gorge dates back many years to when the region was still submerged under the sea. The Atlas Mountains and the Dades River were formed by tectonic movements. The Dades Gorge was formed as the river carved its way through the sedimentary rock over millions of years. Human history is also closely linked to the gorge, as nomads have lived in caves in the surrounding mountains for centuries and used the gorge as a seasonal passage to grazing grounds. It rises in the Atlas Mountains and flows south for 350 km (220 miles) through wild gorges to the Sahara, where it merges into the Draa River. The Dades River, especially its gorges, is a popular tourist destination.

Todgha Gorge
The Todgha Gorge, also known as the Todra Gorge, is a natural phenomenon in the eastern High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, formed by the erosion of the Todra River. It is a natural oasis carved in limestone by the river. The gorge is known for its high, vertical rock walls, which are up to 300 meters high in some places.

Chefchaouen
Chefchaouen, also known as “the Blue City,” is a northern Moroccan city in the Rif Mountains. It was first constructed as a fortification in the 15th century. It is renowned for its old town’s eye-catching, blue-washed buildings. It is famous for its blue-painted houses and narrow streets. The city is a popular tourist destination, offering a relaxed atmosphere and numerous photo opportunities.

Merzouga
Merzouga is one of the gateways to the Sahara, a small village lost in the sand. It is the Erg Chebbi region, a world of dunes, palm groves, paths, and hikes. There is a lake at the bend of a dune called Dayet Srij. It is frequently dry during the summer. When full, it attracts a variety of migratory and desert species, and there will occasionally be flamingos.

Casablanca
The largest city in the Morocco, Casablanca is a port and economic center in western Morocco that faces the Atlantic Ocean. The downtown Moresque architecture, a fusion of Moorish design and European art deco, it is evidence of the city’s French colonial past. The city is famous by massive Hassan II Mosque, finished in 1993, features a 210-meter minaret topped with lasers pointed toward Mecca and partially overhangs the lake.

Meknes
Meknes is unfounded overshadowed and gets less visitors than it should because of the imposing neighbor city Fez. But the city has a lot to offer and will leave you with a spectacular impression of Morocco. The city is located North and is one of the four Imperial cities of Morocco. It is known for their well-preserved Medina and the royal citadel (Kasbah of Moulay Ismail ) which is part of the UNESCO world heritage site.

Marrakech
If you visit Morocco, you can’t miss Marrakech. This city embodies Morocco with its vibrant atmosphere, rich culture, and impressive architecture. Here you can experience the charm of the Orient. Visit the famous main square, Djemaa el Fna, where street performers, storytellers, and food stalls mingle, creating an incredible sense of life. Immerse yourself in the culture of Morocco and let yourself be enchanted.

Volubilis
Volubilis is an ancient Roman city in Morocco, located near Meknes. The site was recognized by UNESCO in 1997 for its cultural and historical value. It is one of the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa, showcasing a blend of Berber and Roman influences. The city is known for its well-preserved mosaics, triumphal arch, basilica, and other public buildings. It’s situated in the fertile plains near Meknes, making it a popular day trip destination from Meknes and Fez.

EXCELLENT Based on 74 reviews Dunia L2025-08-07Verified Breathtaking – an experience you only live once I recently had the incredible pleasure of experiencing a tour in Morocco with the company Morocco Nomadic Tours, and I feel compelled to share my glowing feedback about the company and our remarkable guide, Youssef. The entire journey was nothing short of amazing, offering an unparalleled experience of Morocco’s beauty, culture, and history. It truly was a once‑in‑a‑lifetime adventure, made all the more special by the professionalism and expertise of our guide, Youssef. From the very start of the tour, it was clear that Morocco Nomadic Tours is a top‑tier travel company that places a premium on providing guests with a seamless and enriching experience. The company’s attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the tour. From the comfortable and well‑maintained transport to the carefully selected destinations and accommodations, everything was organized to perfection. The itinerary was balanced, allowing us to explore Morocco’s vibrant cities, serene deserts, and breathtaking landscapes, all while learning about the deep history and culture of the country. However, what truly made this journey unforgettable was our guide, Youssef. Youssef is not just a guide—he is a living testament to the beauty of Morocco’s diverse culture and its ability to blend tradition with modernity. One of the most remarkable aspects of his personality is his background: he comes from a nomadic family. This deep‑rooted connection to Morocco’s traditional way of life gives him an authentic perspective on the country’s history and culture. Yet, despite his roots in the nomadic tradition, Youssef’s views and way of thinking are refreshingly modern. His ability to balance this duality made him the perfect guide to provide insights into both the ancient and contemporary aspects of Moroccan society.Youssef’s professionalism was evident throughout the entire tour. From his punctuality to his thorough knowledge of every location we visited, he consistently exceeded our expectations. He was always prepared, answering our questions with patience and offering insights beyond the typical tourist information. He shared fascinating stories about the historical sites, the customs of the Berber people, and even the little‑known facts about Morocco’s cuisine, architecture, and festivals. His passion for his country was infectious, and it was clear that he took great pride in sharing it with us.What made Youssef stand out even more was his unique approach to explaining things. He had an innate ability to make complex histories and cultural practices come to life, breaking them down in ways that were engaging and easy to understand. He didn’t simply recite facts; he told stories that transported us to another time and place, making the entire experience feel immersive. Whether we were walking through the narrow streets of Marrakech’s medina or hiking in the Atlas Mountains, Youssef had a way of connecting us with the places we visited on a deeper level. His explanations were not just informative—they were thought‑provoking, sparking curiosity and conversation among our group. As someone from a nomadic family, Youssef brought a unique perspective to the tour. He was able to share with us the ways in which the traditional nomadic lifestyle still influences modern‑day Morocco. He spoke of his family’s history with pride, and his stories about the harsh but beautiful desert life were both educational and inspiring. His understanding of Moroccan culture was not just theoretical; it was experiential. This authenticity made our journey feel more like a conversation with a local friend than a standard tour. Youssef’s ability to weave his own personal history into the broader context of Moroccan culture made the trip feel more intimate and real. Moreover, Youssef’s modern outlook was a refreshing contrast to his traditional background. He was well‑versed in global matters, engaging in thought‑provoking discussions about Morocco’s place in the world, the impact of tourism, and how the country was evolving in the modern age. He encouraged open conversations about social, environmental, and economic issues, showing an impressive depth of knowledge that went beyond just guiding us through the sights. His ability to connect the ancient with the modern was both enlightening and inspiring.Throughout the trip, Youssef also demonstrated an exceptional ability to connect with each member of our group. His approach to guiding was personal and individualized, making sure that everyone felt included and engaged. Whether it was taking time to answer specific questions or adapting the pace of the tour to our interests, he always ensured that each person’s needs were met. His warmth and genuine kindness made us feel comfortable and welcomed, adding to the overall positive experience. In summary, Morocco Nomadic Tours and our guide, Youssef, provided an experience that was beyond anything we could have hoped for. The company’s impeccable planning and attention to detail, combined with Youssef’s professionalism, expertise, and personal touch, made our tour in Morocco truly unforgettable. Youssef’s unique background, modern outlook, and exceptional ability to share the culture of Morocco with us made him an invaluable guide. We left Morocco with a deeper understanding of its history, its people, and its rich culture—thanks to his insightful guidance.I wholeheartedly recommend Morocco Nomadic Tours to anyone looking to explore Morocco in an authentic, thoughtful, and enriching way. And if you have the chance to be guided by Youssef, consider yourself incredibly fortunate—his knowledge, warmth, and passion for his country will ensure that your experience is not just a tour but a meaningful journey.
